:: Regarding Minors (under
the age of 18 years old)
No minors are permitted to receive a tattoo
under any circumstances (not even with a parent). All
clients must be 18 years old with a photo I.D.
A person may not perform body piercing on a minor without
the written consent of the minor’s parent or legal
guardian, and an establishment may not perform body
piercing on a minor under the age of 16.
No one under the age of 16 should be pierced under
any circumstances. The body is still developing and
the minor is usually unprepared to care for the piercing.
Minors should be eligible for piercing of the lower
earlobe only, with consent and release of the parent
or legal guardian. (Stud applied with piercing gun)
Minors aged 16 and up should be eligible only for the
following piercings, with consent and release of the
parent or legal guardian with the same last name or
same address:
:: Earlobe
:: Ear Cartilage
:: Nostril
:: Navel
:: Eyebrow
:: Lip (labrum outer lip only)
Parent or legal guardian must have same last name as
client or documents explaining different last names,
or same address on their IDs. Parent/legal guardian and client must both have State-issued
picture ID (school ID may be acceptable at your studio
if it contains birth date or accompany school ID with
a birth certificate), which should be photocopied and
attached to the release form.
